Our curriculum materials are very clear about what you need for each unit of work. This is also reinforced in each lesson, in the unit plans, teacher handbooks and the lesson slide decks themselves..
For most lessons there are minimal additional materials required, usually just a pen, a copy of the learning activities and some paper.
Almost all of our lessons, across all phases of school, will suggest use of a student mini whiteboard to support the use of whole-class checking for understanding strategies.
Our maths materials also recommend the significant use of a range of suitable concrete materials, especially (but not only) in the early years. Significant research supports the use of concrete materials as scaffolds for student learning as they develop conceptual and procedural knowledge.
For other lessons, such as those for science, there is more equipment needed to support observation and investigation of scientific phenomena . This additional equipment is specified in the curriculum documentation and in each set of lesson materials.
